The well established group have raised overwhlion presidentelming sums of money for various charities and groups over the past 4 decades, on the 1st of July Barbara  Whitehead took office as the 45th Lion President of the Dartford Lions Club taking over from Cathy Morgan. Like most presidents Mrs Whitehead has a plan of action of her own for her year in office, her plan is to offer non profit making Food Hygiene courses for Lions Club Members, volunteers and people who work for charity groups.  Mrs Whitehead said “Its very surprising to see how many charities use food as a way of fundraising for their groups, being an accredited trainer myself I though it’s the ideal opportunity for charity group members to become trained on food hygiene.” In addition to the famous Fireworks Night held in Dartford’s Central Park each year, the club themselves are most well known for their Carousel which attends various events in the summer as a way of fundraising. The Dartford Lions Club meet on the first Tuesday of every month at the Dartford Conservative Club and are always looking for new members and volunteers to help with its various activities throughout the borough.
