Hesketh park bowling club is celebrating the start of a very special season. Formed in 1904 the club will be celebrating 120 years of playing. On Saturday the 20th of this month a special first of the season match was arranged. Guests of honour was the Dartford’s lady Mayoress Rosanna Currans and her consul Corinna Bailey. Chairman Richard Amess opened the proceedings by welcoming the Mayoress and her consul.  On the green President Roy Wood invited the Mayoress to play the traditional silver jack and roll the first wood. All members then joined in with a spider the winner was Barry Brown. The Open Drive was won by John Nichols with 28 points. President Roy Wood added  “this was my 30 year at Hesketh. The day was a great success and everyone enjoyed the event. The Mayoress left the club smiling.”
