Reading is an adventure for pupils at Indiana Jones-themed ‘Discovery Library’

Beanstalk – a national literacy charity which recruits, trains and supports volunteer reading helpers in schools – presented pupils at Wentworth Primary School in Dartford with a case of books to add to their adventurous Indiana Jones-themed library called the ‘Discovery Library’. To help launch the return of the Giving Tree at Bluewater, pupils from Bean Primary School in Kent paid a visit to donate gifts to disadvantaged children in Kent and the South East. The Giving Tree, in conjunction with Heart FM, is back at Bluewater following the success of last year’s appeal, which saw over 11,000 gifts delivered to disadvantaged children. Battersea Brands Hatch longest resident Theo finally finds his match

An unlucky Alaskan Malamute who had spent 759 days in kennels at Battersea Brands Hatch has finally seen his luck turn around after a couple from Oxfordshire fell in love with him. In September 2014, Theo was found wandering the streets of South West London. He was transferred to the Battersea site in the Kent countryside as the rural life would be much more suitable for a dog of his size.
