YOUNG DANCERS WANTED TO SHINE IN ALADDIN AT ORCHARD WEST THIS CHRISTMAS

by | Aug 30, 2025 | Children, Dartford Entertainment, Entertainment, What's On?

Excitement is already building at Orchard West for this year’s magical production of Aladdin and now, following the theatre’s recent open auditions to find Jasmine, local youngsters are being invited to be part of the festive fun on stage!

Talented young dancers aged 9–16 (school years 4–11) are encouraged to audition for a spot in the Junior Ensemble, performing alongside National Treasure, Birds of a Feather and Loose Women star Linda Robson in this year’s spectacular pantomime.

It has been 7 years since children have appeared in Dartford’s pantomime so this is an exciting opportunity for a new generation of children to have the chance to appear in a professional pantomime.

Open auditions will take place on Sunday 5th October at Orchard West, where aspiring young performers will learn a short routine and showcase their skills in front of a panel. No previous experience is required, just energy, enthusiasm, and a love of performing.

Steve Boden, Joint CEO of Imagine Theatre, the award-winning producer behind the show, said:

“Every year, we hold open auditions across the UK to discover fresh young talent to join our professional pantomime casts. We’re not just looking for technical ability, we want to see personality, stage presence, and that special spark that lights up a performance.

These opportunities are at the heart of what we do. We’re proud to remain one of the few nationwide pantomime producers committed to open auditions, because we believe every young person should have the chance to experience the magic of panto from the stage, no matter their background or experience.

Many young people who’ve joined our Junior Ensembles have gone on to careers in the industry and it all started with that first audition.”

Tal Rosen, Theatre Director at Orchard West added: We are absolutely thrilled to welcome a junior ensemble to this year’s production of Aladdin in Orchard West. The last time we featured a junior ensemble was in 2018, also for Aladdin, and after seven years, it feels incredibly special to bring this opportunity back. This year’s pantomime is all about celebrating and involving our local community, and that’s why including talented young performers from the area is more important than ever. Juniors bring a unique energy and magic to the stage, and we know they’ll enhance this year’s production in unforgettable ways. We can’t wait to see the local talent shine at auditions on October 5th!

If your child has what it takes to bring a bit of extra magic to this year’s panto, head to orchardwest.co.uk or visit www.imaginetheatre.co.uk to find out more about how to take part, including full audition details and requirements.

Tickets for Aladdin are on sale now, visit orchardwest.co.uk for bookings and more information.
