Greggs opens ‘Bitesize Greggs’ in Dartford Station

by | Dec 5, 2025 | Dartford News

Greggs, a leading UK food-on-the-go retailer, is delighted to announce the opening of a ‘Bitesize Greggs’ in Dartford Station. This recently launched smaller shop format enables the Company to offer a range iconic products to more customers in high-footfall, prime locations which are constrained by space.

Open seven days a week, the Dartford Station shop has created 11 new jobs for the local area. It follows the opening of the Company’s first ‘Bitesize Greggs’ in Sevenoaks Railway Station in November 2025, as part of a trial to assess customer response and operational efficiencies in the new format. The more agile shop format will see Greggs enter more prime locations – mostly travel hubs – many of which have been previously out of reach due to size constraints.

Operating with a smaller footprint, Bitesize Greggs offers a tailored range of best-selling customer favourites for the same great quality and great prices, from Sausage Rolls and Steak Bakes to Sweet Treats and Fairtrade hot drinks. The Dartford Station shop will also serve the seasonal favourite, Festive Bake, which recently launched nationwide.

These ‘Bitesize Greggs’ will be rolled out alongside more traditional, larger Greggs shops in line with the Company’s shop growth plans. Greggs remains on track to open around 120 net new shops in 2025, averaging around four new shop openings per week. After Dartford Station, the next Bitesize Greggs shop will open later this month in Cheshire Oaks, with additional openings to follow.

Tony Rowson, Property Director at Greggs commented: “We’re delighted to announce the opening of our second ‘Bitesize Greggs’ shop in Dartford Station. This bustling station is the perfect location to continue to trial our new format to reach more customers on the go from compact units, whilst still offering a selection of our best-selling products. We have a number of other ‘Bitesize Greggs’ openings planned, initially on a trial basis, as part of our broader estate growth plans and we look forward to announcing these in due course.”
