Local Amateur Dramatic Group Brings the Comedy Play “The Flint Street Nativity” to the Dartford Stage

Local amateur dramatic group SLOG Players are looking forward to bringing this festive comedy play to Dartford from Thursday 3rd – Saturday 5th December 2015.  Written by Tim Firth of The Calendar Girls fame, the play tells the story of a group of seven year olds taking part in their school nativity play. It is a nativity with a difference though, as all the children are played by adults!

Of course there are the usual arguments as to who will be Mary, Herod is nowhere to be seen and Wise Myrrh is off sick with chicken pox! Like all good nativity plays, the production includes music, in the form of ten songs, based on the tunes of well known carols. Director; Darren Coleman, says that ‘the group chose the play for its excellent script, and easily identifiable characters’ adding that they ‘have made every effort to transport the audience back to the outsized world every seven year old inhabits’. He expects tickets to sell very quickly as it has not been performed locally in recent years. He adds that the production does include some mild adult language, and therefore they suggest a minimum age of 12 years is appropriate.

Performances start at 8pm, (with a further matinee performance on the Saturday afternoon at 3pm), at Darenth Village Hall, Darenth, Dartford DA2 7LL and the group has a licensed bar.

For more information and to book tickets, call 01474 706665 or book on line at www.ticketsource.co.uk/slog (booking fee applies).
