Dartford Borough Council have announced the first acts to feature at this Summer’s FREE Dartford Festival on the 13th and 14th July, and it’s lining up to be another cracker!

Fresh from England’s World Cup run of 2018, THE LIGHTNING SEEDS (are coming home) to headline the Main Stage. The band had a number of top hits including ‘Three Lions’, which topped the UK charts in both 1996 and 1998 selling over a million copies. One of Britain’s best known bands, they are guaranteed to get the crowd going with a party atmosphere.

BJÖRN AGAIN | Dartford Living

BJÖRN AGAIN will be performing the greatest hits of ABBA, as the internationally acclaimed show acknowledged for singlehandedly initiating the ABBA revival comes to Dartford. Having amassed over 5,200 performances across 72 countries in 31 years, this is sure to get everyone up singing and dancing to the classics!

The Farm | Dartford Living

With a powerful live show featuring all the hits including ‘Groovy Train’ and ‘All Together Now’, THE FARM have an incredible back catalogue of eight UK top-forty singles and a number one album. They were the soundtrack for a generation, and enjoyed worldwide success. They are a fantastic addition to this year’s Dartford Festival lineup.

James Taylor, one of the great British instrumentalists of his generation, has taken his trademark howling Hammond sound to the masses for over 25 years with the JAMES TAYLOR QUARTET. Still famed for its upbeat, energetic live shows with no sign of slowing down, the band’s relentlessly entertaining tunes take inspiration from the rare-groove style funk of the 60s and 70s. Without doubt, the James Taylor Quartet are one of the most important jazz-pop crossover outfits in British live musical history.

These four amazing acts are just the first to be announced and there’s sure to be something for the whole family to enjoy on this year’s Main Stage.

Council Leader Jeremy Kite said, “The Borough Council’s Festival has grown over the years and we’ve always strived to bring top quality live acts to Dartford and this year is no different. The Lightning Seeds and The Farm were the backdrop to a whole generation and groups like BJÖRN AGAIN and the James Taylor Quartet will ensure everyone has a great time.

The event gets bigger and better each year, buts it’s important that we never forget that first and foremost it’s a community Festival and we’ll be presenting the best of Dartford’s local dance, music and drama groups to light up the Community Stage.

We are reintroducing some of the firm family favourites from past festivals so the whole town can look forward to coming together to enjoy the show.”

This year’s Dartford Borough Council Festival takes place on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July 2019.
