Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) is excited to announce the launch of an inspiring new Girlguiding London and South East England Challenge Badge, the Air Ambulance KSS Mission Badge. The new badge is packed with exciting insights into the charity’s vital work and designed to educate and inspire young people about emergency medical services, aviation, the basic lifesaving skills of CPR and defibrillation and the importance of community support and fundraising.
KSS has worked closely with Girlguiding London and South East England to develop the new badge for which participants must complete a series of KSS `missions’. Each mission offers a unique insight into the lifesaving operations of KSS and covers everything from when and how to call 999, to knowing how to help save the life of someone in cardiac arrest, learning some basic aviation skills and the importance of staying fit and healthy for a career in Helicopter Emergency Medical Services.
Key Features of the Air Ambulance KSS Mission Badge:
Educational Missions. Participants will learn what to do in an emergency, how to safely arrive at a scene, and the importance of medical research in helping to save more lives.
Interactive Learning. The missions include practical activities such as learning CPR, using defibrillators, and understanding how to call for help in an emergency.
Community Engagement. The badge encourages participants to get involved with their local community and support KSS through fundraising and awareness activities. Completing all missions, including a fundraising activity, enters participants into a prize draw to meet the KSS crew.
Inspiring Future Careers. By showcasing the diverse roles within the air ambulance service, the badge aims to inspire young people to consider careers in emergency medical services and related fields.
