The annual Dartford Half Marathon almost upon us again.  It has been moved (wisely) from it’s mid-summer spot to a more temperate date in mid-March, which appears to have increased the number of entries this year – in fact, there’s every possibility that last year’s total of 299 finishers will be doubled for 2015. Charity Focus – Howbury Tumbers

The Howbury Tumblers is a charity registered Parent Carer Toddler Group which I set up 15 years ago, in Slade Green, an area of high deprivation.howbury tumblers We are open every day during term time, 9.15 – 2.45 on a drop – in basis, and offer a safe and stimulating Play & learn environment for children and their Parents & Carers to enjoy together at a low cost. We provide activities such as cooking, arts & crafts , singing & dancing daily which enhances learning and development in our soft play indoor and outdoor play setting. We have just moved into the new Community Centre in Slade Green, and now have a large ball pit as well as climbing frame, home & book corner, bikes & ride – ons, puzzles and small play. Terminally ill Dartford teen shares her experiences of receiving care from local charity ellenor

A TERMINALLY ill teenager from Dartford is hoping the community will give generously to a local charity that cares for her this Children’s Hospice Week (May 11-17). Amy Kemp is only 17 but has battled cancer for much of her short life.
