Dartford based small-medium businesses* can now receive FREE support to cover the cost of energy saving changes like LED lighting, insultation, heat pumps, solar panels and double or triple glazing, by applying for a Dartford Borough Council Low Carbon for Businesses grant of £5,000.
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund has allowed the Council to provide a select number of businesses with one to one support, an energy survey to identify how they can save on their energy bills and a grant to cover the cost of improvements as they work towards a net zero town.
Energy surveys will find alterations the business could make to reduce their energy bills, and include a detailed breakdown of the carbon saving, cost, and Return On Investment of the changes.
The project links in with the Council’s green Net Zero Strategy which falls under their ‘Planet Dartford’ brand umbrella and details how DBC is responding to the climate emergency, whilst working together with all stakeholders to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss.
Council Leader Jeremy Kite said, “I’m delighted that the Council is able to offer these grants to Dartford businesses. As with all our Planet Dartford initiatives, we’re fully committed to achieving our goal of a net zero town in the future. This is a great step in that journey that will help organisations save on their energy bills, whilst also going greener.”
To apply for funding your business must be registered in Dartford, pay business rates to Dartford Borough Council and have been trading for at least one year.
