Dartford photo competition announced

Dartford Living and We Love Dartford have teamed up to organise a photography competition to find a picture that sums up the spirit of Dartford. The judging panel will include Dartford media experts from Bresser Photography & Digital Media, Stephen Oliver: Studio & Gallery Art, Dartford Living and We Love Dartford. There will be prizes for the winners and runners up in each age group. (See website for prize details)

There will be three age groups: 5-11 years old, 12-17 years old and 18+ The competition will only be open to amateur photographers who live or work in the Dartford Borough. We want your entries to sum up why you love Dartford. A few suggestions for your snaps could include:

– A picturesque scene from Central Park, Dartford Library or St Edmund’s Church
– One of our great sports clubs including Dartford Footbal Club, Dartford Cricket Club or Dartford Valley Rugby Football Club
– The hustle and bustle of one of Dartford’s Markets
– Absolutely anything that you think demonstrates the cultural diversity in Dartford

To enter the competition you can email your photograph(s) to photocomp@dartfordliving.com. Photos need to be submitted in jpeg format and at least 2000px long with a file size of at least 300k. A higher quality image will be required for print.

It is entirely up to you! You can submit a maximum of 3 entries per person. The photo must be your own piece of work and must not have already been entered into a competition. If you are taking a picture that includes people, then you will need to obtain the written consent of anyone featured. Any children featured (unless your own!) require the permission from their parent or guardian. The closing date for entries is the 2nd September with the winning entry displayed at a prime location in Dartford.

The Small Print! All photos come with non exclusive rights to publish. You remain the copyright holder however Dartford Living Ltd and We Love Dartford have the rights to publish in perpetuity. We will also own the publicity rights. All entries need to be submitted by 17:00 on the 2nd September 2016.
