On Saturday 25th July 2015, Dartford Mayor Cllr Ian Armitt and wife Lynne were in attendance to cut the ribbon and officially launch the opening of Footgolf at Princes Park Stadium. He was accompanied around the course with representatives from Dartford Football Club; General Manager Nicola Collett, Youth Development Centre Manager Phil Murray and Community Lead Sean Scolding.Co-Chairman Steve Irving was present during the ribbon cutting whereby he announced ‘We are not just a Football Club; our ambition is to involve as many sporting activities as we can here at Princes Park. We would like to thank Richard Brown from UK Footgolf for attending today and hope that this encourages family activities to be enjoyed by all.’
Entrance was free for everyone who came along to the launch to try out this new venture and it wasincredibly popular. With elite players attending the launch feedback was really positive; one player expressed ‘this is simply one of the best courses I have played on and I will be returning.’
Thanks go to our key staff that organised for the launch day to go ahead and introduce Footgolf to Princes Park Stadium. Thanks to their continued dedication and hard work at Dartford Football Clubas it’s clear to see that their efforts have paid off and this new sport is going to be a huge hit!
