Celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee couldn’t be easier in Dartford, with events, street parties and celebrations set to fill the local calendar.
Dartford Borough Council is preparing its own amazing set of events and commemorations to mark 70 years since Queen Elizabeth II was crowned monarch, but it is also aware that residents may want to plan their own celebrations.
That’s why the Council has created a Street Party Pack for local people and communities to apply for grants and food-voucher packages that will help put on street parties and larger events.
Neighbourhood street parties can apply for £100 worth of party-food vouchers and organisers of larger events can apply for up to £500 for events expenses.
The pack, which is available to download here, also offers hints and good advice on planning parties.
Kent County Council can help residents through the simple steps it takes to close a public road for a street party. More details can be found here.
Leader of Dartford Borough Council, Jeremy Kite MBE, said: “The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee was always going to be a once in a lifetime chance for a right royal celebration, but the events of the last two years have given it extra special meaning.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to bring the whole community together and make some great memories at the end of a tough time for everyone.”
