Land Securities has announced that GraVity, the UK’s premium trampoline park brand, is to open its flagship trampoline park at Bluewater, Europe’s leading retail and leisure destination. The GraVity site will occupy a 25,000 sq ft custom created leisure space within the lower hall of Bluewater’s redeveloped Plaza area. Work on the Plaza has already begun on-site, and GraVity is due to launch in time for Christmas this year.
GraVity’s trampoline parks are designed by an in-house team and incorporate wall-to-wall trampolines to create large open play areas. A variety of fitness and entertainment activities will be available to people of all ages, including open jump sessions, “TrampoLEAN” classes, specialised versions of basketball and dodge ball /Volley ball as well as hired parties and corporate group bookings.
Founded by entrepreneurs Harvey Jenkinson and Michael Harrison in 2014, GraVity’s first trampoline park launched in February 2015 at Xscape Yorkshire. Since then, GraVity has opened three further parks and with a recent investment of £5 million, it has plans to double in size with four further sites in prime locations; which includes the Bluewater flagship park. The investment will also enable GraVity to make modifications to existing parks to introduce new activities and increase capacity.
Rob Hardie, Senior Portfolio Manager at Land Securities, co-owner and asset manager of Bluewater, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming GraVity to Bluewater’s redeveloped Plaza. The brand adds to our already popular range of leisure activities including the Showcase cinema, which is currently being upgraded to a 17-screen Cinema de Lux. Together these leisure activities create a unique day-out experience that always provides something surprising and memorable for guests, and help to ensure Bluewater’s position as Europe’s leading retail and leisure destination.”
Harvey Jenkinson, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer from GraVity added: “Bluewater is renowned as one of the UK’s premier destinations for retail and leisure, making it the ideal location for our latest trampoline park. The impressive footfall, diverse catchment and complete day-out offering make it the perfect launch-pad for our expansion. This will be our flagship location nationally, enabling us to further establish ourselves as the number one, premium trampoline operator in the UK. I am extremely excited about the future of GraVity and Bluewater.”
This announcement follows the recent news that Land Securities is redeveloping Bluewater’s Plaza. Designed to enhance the Plaza experience for guests, the plans include the creation of four new screens for the Showcase Cinema de Lux, as well as three new restaurants, and two new leisure spaces, one of which will be home to Gravity.
In addition, Missguided is making its first move outside London at Bluewater, with the launch of a 16,000 sq ft statement store on the lower Rose Gallery, and The White Company has just opened its new regional flagship on the lower Guildhall.
