Keep it Positive! for Orchard West and DAODS

by | Jul 7, 2024 | Dartford Entertainment, Entertainment, What's On?

The Orchard Theatre team, Dartford Borough Council and Dartford Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (DAODS) are all pleased to announce that the next DAODS production, LEGALLY BLONDE, will be presented on the Orchard West stage.

Originally due to perform on the Orchard Theatre stage, Legally Blonde will now be one of the confirmed shows to transfer following the news of the delayed reopening of The Orchard Theatre.

The cast of DAODS are pleased with the news that the show can go on! As Elle Woods and the Greek Chorus sing in the show, they are gonna “keep it positive!”

Statement from DAODS Chairman, Paul Farlie

“We have a wonderful relationship with The Orchard Theatre and Dartford Borough Council. We have had a number of setbacks over the last few years but through working together we have come through them and have continued to be able to produce high quality productions at both The Orchard Theatre and Orchard West. We are so lucky to have such a great theatre in Dartford and Orchard West is an amazing alternative venue whilst the remediation work is being carried out. We look forward to being able to produce shows at The Orchard Theatre for many years to come but in the meantime are hugely excited to be able to produce Legally Blonde at Orchard West this October.”

Statement from Dartford Borough Council

“The Orchard Theatre is a jewel in Dartford’s crown, and whilst the building works are going to take a little longer than originally anticipated, we are delighted that DAODS’ production of ‘Legally Blonde’ will be staged at Orchard West. DAODS will also be attending the Big Day Out in Central Park on 13 July, where they will be promoting the show and giving us all a sneak peek at what we can expect from it later in the year. We are a firm supporter of local arts and would urge everyone to support our local talent – book now!”

Statement from Tal Rosen, Theatre Director for The Orchard Theatre | Orchard West

“We are delighted to have DAODS back at Orchard West in October for Legally Blonde, following their outstanding review show Curtain Up in April 2024. DAODS and The Orchard Theatre’s relationship goes from strength-to-strength and we look forward to welcoming them back to Orchard West, to showcase and support the talent that our local amateur dramatics society has to offer.”
