Greenhithe and Stone based Mary’s Child has launched its Digital Hub to help combat the growing issue of digital poverty.
Jointly funded by the Kent Community Foundation and the ASDA Foundation the Mary’s Child Digital Hub provides three lap tops and a printer, located in the St Marys Greenhithe Community Cafe for those who have no access to a computer.
Discussing the need for online access Mary’s Child Projects and Fundraising Co-ordinator, Jude Andrews explained:
“Large numbers of people who are expected to apply for jobs and benefits online simply do not have access to a computer. This digital poverty is becoming a national issue and we are so grateful to the Kent Community and ASDA Foundations for funding our new digital hub.”
The laptops and printer will be available to anyone who requires specific access to complete online forms every Wednesday morning in the St Mary’s Greenhithe Church Hall.
