MARTIN TOLHURST SOLICITORS RAISES £20,000 FOR ELLENOR HOSPICE

by | May 25, 2018 | Dartford Charities

Kent hospice charity ellenor, a leading provider of specialist palliative and end of life care has received an incredible £20,000 donation from one of Kent’s leading law firms.

Martin Tolhurst Solicitors, whose head office is in Gravesend but which has 5 other offices throughout Kent, is a full service law firm providing a wide range of legal services.  Winners of the 2017 Law Firm Services Conveyancing Awards, they also received a highly commended award for Conveyancing Firm of the Year in London & the South East region category for the second year running.

Linda Trew, Director of Income Generation said: “We are so grateful to all the staff at Martin Tolhurst who have worked so hard to raise this money.  Some of the team originally came to our annual fundraising ball and were inspired by what they heard.  As a result, they set themselves an extremely challenging target to raise £20,000 within the year.  It seemed an almost impossible task but their determination saw them reach their goal.  These funds will enable us to provide hospice care in the home to children and adults across Gravesham and further afield.  We look forward to celebrating with the team at this year’s ball on the 9th of June!

Ellenor’s mission is that families when facing with a diagnosis of a life-limiting or terminal illness should receive the very best quality, personalized care and support in their place of choice, enabling them to make the most of the time they have with their loved ones.

To reach this huge charitable donation, the team at Martin Tolhurst have been getting involved in many fundraising events and activities throughout the year and have really exceeded their selves in working towards this goal.

Managing Partner, Richard Carter, says “This was a fantastic effort for the firm and I am very proud of our staff. We had people running marathons, climbing Kilimanjaro, jumping out of planes at Headcorn, baking cakes, doing lots of long walks in Kent, dress down Fridays and we got there! £20,000 in one year is the most we have ever raised for a charity. The work that Ellenor does is incredible and the whole team there are such wonderful, caring and inspirational people.”
