Phoenix Quarters Residents Community (PQRC) staged Dussehra Navaratri festival in Temple Hill community centre, Dartford on 06 Oct 2019.
Goddess Durga is worshipped during this festival and the festival spans 9 nights & 10 days celebrated every year in the autumn. The event featured music from a Hindi Bollywood, Bhangra, Indian regional languages with colorful dances and an array of festive food. More than 150 attendees including children were present at the event and thoroughly enjoyed the Dandiya Stick dance for this auspicious family event.
Floral decorated photo booth was the key attraction for the families as they took photos in their traditional attires standing in front of it.
Kids formed their own dancing circles to the festive music tunes while the adults celebrated the spirit of the event and demonstrated strong community bonding. All the participants took photos and videos and interacted closely with each other during the event besides enjoying the delicious Indian dishes, reported Phoenix Quarters resident community volunteer Krishna Pavan Challa.
