Summer Youth Project 2025 Announced

by | Mar 26, 2025 | Dartford Entertainment, Entertainment

Our Summer Youth Project will return to Dartford in 2025, taking place at Orchard West.

SYP sees a cast of over 100 young performers, age 9-19, rehearse for two intense weeks in the Summer Holidays, before putting on a professional quality performance on our stage.

Last year, our Summer Youth Project, Bring It On, received rave reviews. We are pleased to be able to deliver the project to the local community once again from our temporary venue.

‘SYP – A Musical Journey’, is written and produced for the Summer Youth Project, about the Summer Youth Project! In a time where plans are everchanging, why not write our own musical and tell our own story?

Follow Sammy, as they embark on their first Summer Youth Project. With all the ups and downs, when an unexpected twist of fate leaves the project in uncertainty. Building a new venue, the show must go on as Sammy and friends enjoy the adventure of trying to find what show to put on, while learning what it takes to perform, from our beloved Alumni participants.

A Musical Journey is exactly what it will be, with all our favourite songs from musicals such as Wizard of Oz, School of Rock, Little Shop of Horrors and more. Plus, full dance routines and plenty of parts for everyone.

SYP producer and Creative Learning Manager, Terri McCann says:

“When deciding on this year’s SYP, we were reflecting on all the past shows and moments gone by… and while waiting for news on the reopening of The Orchard Theatre, we were unsure, which venue we would be performing in. We are delighted to be back in Orchard West this Summer and we realised that we also had was the makings of a great story.

So the concept of ‘SYP: A Musical Journey’ was born. We will be using all the best songs and moments from previous Summer Youth Projects, with the twists and turns you would expect from any musical. I’m proud to be able to bring the ideas of many together to create a musical journey for our amazing young performers.”
