ADULT AND CHILDREN’S CHARITY ELLENOR AIMS TO RAISE £75,000 WITH TWILIGHT WALK

ellenor’s biggest mass participation event in Gravesend aims to raise £75,000!

The ellenor Twilight Walk is set to raise thousands of pounds for hospice care and the charity is calling on their local community to help them achieve this.. All sponsorship money raised through the event will go towards care and support for patients, families and carers living with life limiting or terminal illness in Kent.

The Twilight Walk encourages everyone – women, men and children – to take part and help raise vital funds and awareness for ellenor.  Last year, a record 1,176 people joined the walk.  Participants can choose to take on the 8km or 12km route, whilst uniting with others to remember and celebrate the lives of their loved ones.

This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Twilight Walk and will be inviting everyone to join us on our walk, turning the streets of Gravesend orange in support of families facing terminal illness.

Together we will raise vital funds to enable ellenor to continue delivering crucial services to families in our community. £75,000 could provide over 3 years of medical supplies or roughly 800 chemotherapy at home sessions – but we can only achieve this with your support” – Emma Bowles, ellenor Senior Events Fundraiser.

ellenor’s Twilight Walk takes place on Friday 20 September at the Cyclopark in Gravesend. The evening starts at 6pm, and entry includes a special Twilight Walk t-shirt, a fun warm-up, refreshments and a Finisher’s medal.  Those raising over £200 in sponsorship will receive a special #fundraisinghero water bottle! The Mayor of Gravesham, Councillor Gurdip Ram Bungar will open the event, and then join the crowds of people who have been affected by hospice care at this year’s Memory Walk.

I am in awe of the care you give to families especially the little ones.  I am now 80 so may need Hospice care one of these days. I just hope our hospice teams are as well organised as ellenor” – ellenor supporter Colin Vermeulen.
