North Kent College students have “stars” in their eyes as they receive outstanding results

North Kent College’s Computing students certainly had something to shout about after
the highest amount ever in the history of the College achieved Distinction* (star). Distinction* is the top-grade that can be gained at a Level 3.

North Kent College ranks second nationally for achievement rates at Level 3 and the Computing
department at the College also boasts a 99% success rate.

32 students completed their second year BTEC Extended Diploma which consisted of 18 units that
needed to be completed over two years. 8 Games Development & 4 Computing students completed
the course with a Distinction*.

Jack Scott, said “Throughout the last two years with lots of thanks to my lecturers and friends I have
been pushing myself to try and achieve the highest grade I could. Now that my 2-year course has
come to an end I’m going to stay at North Kent College and start the Degree level to hopefully
achieve even more which I am so excited about.

Callum Duddle, Level 3 Computing also commented “I am so happy with my results and achievements with North Kent College and have excelled in computing. College life allows me to learn and feel like an adult and does not feel stressful while learning, college has made it enjoyable. I am planning on staying with the Degree level programme till I can achieve either a masters or even a doctorate.”

Nuur Hassan, Curriculum Manager for Computing said “It is every teacher’s prime objective to see
their students excel in their studies. It is even more so after four months of remote learning owing to
COVID-19 lockdown, to see our students achieve such excellent grades for their final assessments.
On behalf of the department’s teaching and support teams, I would like to congratulate these
students for their excellent achievements – very well done.”
