This once in a lifetime opportunity of walking 20 feet over hot coals at 550-degree Celsius takes place on Saturday 26 th March 2022 at the Princes Park Stadium, Dartford. The event date also coincides with National Down Syndrome week, a national event raising awareness for people living with Down Syndrome. We Are Beams support many children with Down Syndrome including the popular Little Buddies group which was set up for parents of children with life- limiting disabilities. The group meet on a regular basis and a number of parents from Little Buddies have chosen to be take part in this exhilarating challenge to raise awareness and funds. Andy Ray, Community Fundraiser at We Are Beams, says “The fire walk is an excellent way to not only raise money for Beams but also taking part will be an excellent way to show others that we can overcome our fears or limitations and put our minds to something if we try” The money raised will go towards the £1.6 million needed each year to support 450 families that access the services run by the charity. There are still places available so why not kick off those shoes and walk over hot coals for We Are Beams!
