Local home care company wins national award

by | Apr 13, 2022 | Uncategorized

A local home care company has won a prestigious national award, crediting the exceptional support they provide to employees, particularly during the pandemic when the care sector faced one of its biggest ever challenges.

Home Instead Dartford won ‘Best for team support expertise’ at the Home Care Awards, a prestigious, national awards ceremony recognising top talent across the home care sector.

As soon as they established the business in 2019, owners Christina Uppenkamp and Ram Chandra Thapa knew the importance of prioritising employees’ mental health. The pandemic occurred not long after, and care professionals quickly had to conform to guidance from Public Health England, particularly with regards to PPE usage. Already with the right support in place, Home Instead ensured that care professionals felt comfortable, safe and supported while performing their role at such a challenging time.

Home Instead Dartford was recently declared a ‘5 star’ employer by independent employee engagement experts WorkBuzz, having received an impressive employee engagement score of 93%, a rating that few companies achieve.

Christina says: “We deliver high-quality care because we have such hard-working and committed care professionals. A top priority for us is to ensure that employees aren’t simply satisfied in their roles, but comfortable and supported too. I’m particularly proud to have seen them deliver exceptional care during the stressful and worrying times that were brought about due to the pandemic.

“Winning at the Home Care Awards, which honours the best of the best in the domiciliary care sector, fills us with so much pride. We look forward to continuing championing our wonderful care professionals as they make it possible for older people to live well at home.”

This is the second time Home Instead Dartford has been recognised at the Home Care Awards, as last year it was ‘highly commended’ in the category of ‘Best start-up home care service or new franchisee’.

Home Instead Dartford is looking for new care professionals to add to its team. Duties include personal care, such as help with washing and dressing, live-in care and companionship.
