Twenty-two year-old Jordan Greenidge arrived at Bericote Powerhouse Princes Park in early March this year. The tall, powerful striker joined Steve King’s side on loan from Weymouth until the end of the season.
Since his arrival, the Londoner has bagged three goals in three appearances for the Darts, as he aims to contribute towards the team’s target of winning promotion to the National League this term.
Jordan comes from a family that has football in its blood. With his older brother playing in the sport, a five-year old Jordan soon followed suit before realising that a career within the sport was possible when he became a teenager.
Being inspired by his parents and older brother, as well as being grounded in his Christian faith, Jordan strives to improve everyday and to play at the highest level that his abilities allow. And, having played alongside Jordi Gomez (a player he holds in high regard), not to mention playing against the likes of England Internationals Jadon Sancho and Phil Foden, Jordan really does know what it takes to become a professional footballer of the highest quality.
With making his professional debut being his best memory so far, the 22-year old Arsenal fan has also tasted one of the more joyful moments that being a footballer brings – scoring goals. And he says that his favourite moment in football was when he scored a brace to help Stoke City’s U18s reach the FA Youth Cup Semi-Final live on television in 2017. Back then, a young Jordan was playing alongside current Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell (son of ex-Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell).
Despite the impressive competition for places in the Dartford attack, Jordan really enjoys the camaraderie within the dressing room and, hopefully more opportunities to grab the headlines will come the striker’s way from now until the end of the season.
