Versatile left-footed defender Kristian Campbell arrived at Dartford after leaving Welling United in March. And, the 27-year old has proven to be a reliable player to call upon, having made six appearances already in his short spell at the club.

Yet, having endured a difficult season to date, with things going from one extreme to another, Kristian is happy to be at a club which expects high standards throughout. And, noticing the difference both on and off the pitch, he’s taking things one game at a time whilst intending to do his best to help the Darts collect as many wins as possible.

The defender has full respect for Steve King and Dartford, and says that his favourite goal is ironically the one he scored against his current employers when he played for Bognor Regis in 2017! However, he has always admired the great supporters and overall setup surrounding Bericote Powerhouse Princes Park.

Kristian has always loved his football, and took to the sport when his parents bought him a football at the age of 3-4. Playing as a goalkeeper until he was seventeen, the coaching staff at the Bromley FC Academy discovered him playing outfield during a training session. They subsequently shifted him into a left-back position, and Kristian soon thought that he’d have more chance of going further in the sport if he stuck to that role.

With an ambition to play at the highest level possible for as long as his body allows, this rather superstitious man has the full support of his Mum behind him, for which he’s forever grateful.

And, while he understands his limitations, he would dearly love to win a few trophies during his playing days. He has fond memories of making it to the FA Cup First Round (proper) with former club Merstham, where he played against Oxford United live on television. Meanwhile, he states that Alfie Rutherford is the best player he’s played against and alongside.

As far as the remainder of this season is concerned, Kristian is pleased to be playing under a manager who has an amazing ability to produce successful teams, which are challenging for the league and/or playoffs regularly. And he really hopes that the squad can carry the good form into the playoffs come the end of this season.
