Raising important funds for childhood brainstem cancer charity, BLAZE

This December, Hangloose Adventure at Bluewater Shopping Centre, Kent, will be raising important funds for childhood brainstem cancer, BLAZE, with the return of its Charity Santa Flights.

Guests can swap sleighs for zip lines on Sunday 14th December, for one day only, donning full Santa suits provided by the park, as they soar headfirst down England’s longest and fastest zipline – an impressive 720 metres of airtime – reaching speeds of up to 50 mph.

Tickets are £40 per person, with 50% of all ticket sales donated to BLAZE, a local charity founded by Hangloose instructors Ellen and Owen and their family in memory of their younger brother Benjamin, who tragically passed away from a rare and aggressive brain tumour (DIPG) in 2021 at the age of 11. Through BLAZE, the family funds research into childhood brain tumours, raises awareness of early symptoms, and provides support, gifts, and experiences for affected families, ensuring Benjamin’s memory continues to make a difference to the lives of others.

Participants can fly solo or in pairs side-by-side to share the experience together. Free on-site parking, lockers, and designated viewing areas are available, and every participant will receive a Santa suit to wear during their flight – filling the skies with festive red as they zip for a good cause.

Experienced instructors ensure every guest is fully briefed and equipped with top-quality safety gear before take-off, guaranteeing an exhilarating yet secure flight. Accessible slots are available for disabled guests or those requiring extra assistance, with carers flying free to ensure everyone can join the fun.

Set against the dramatic chalk cliffs of an old quarry and gliding over Bluewater’s scenic lakes, the zip line is just a stone’s throw from Bluewater Shopping Centre and only 35 minutes from London’s O2 Arena – making it an ideal festive day out for families, couples, or adrenaline seekers alike.

Brian Phelps, Managing Director of Hangloose Adventure, says: “Our Santa Flight at Bluewater has a really special meaning for the team. Blaze Charity was founded by two of our own instructors in memory of their younger brother, so being able to support them and help raise money for such an important cause means a lot to all of us. Christmas is about bringing people together and creating lasting memories, and that’s exactly what we wanted to do this year.”
