This year’s X Factor winner Matt Terry announced as the first headliner for Dartford Festival 2017

Dartford Borough Council are happy to announce the first acts in a great line up for this year’s FREE Dartford Festival in Central Park over the weekend 15th and 16th July.

This year’s X Factor winner, Matt’s debut single ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ was written by Ed Sheeran and charted at number 3, peaking at number one on iTunes download charts the week of release.

Signed to RCA (Sony), Matt is currently working on his first album since winning the 2016 X Factor.

Also appearing this year are The Skatonics who came crashing onto the scene in 2007, and since then have performed to the ever growing enthusiastic Ska followers at venues and festivals across the UK and Europe.

With gigs alongside acts including Madness, The Beat, The Selecter, and Dartford Festival favourites… Bruce Foxton’s “From the Jam” & Neville Staple. This 8 piece band is rapidly becoming one of the best SKA bands in the UK.

We are also pleased to welcome M.A.N.E. A new indie pop electronica artist / producer based in Liverpool. He is currently working with Grammy award winning producer Steve Levine, the debut single is coming out through Parr Street Studios / Rooftop Records 2017

Council Leader Jeremy Kite said “It’s always a sign that summer is not far away when we announce the first artists to appear at the free Dartford Festival. I’m delighted with the reputation the Festival now has as a major event for the fans of great live music. There are more announcements ahead”.
