It’s been an eventful Winter Olympics for Team GB in Pyeongchang 2018 and with the final medals being decided this weekend, there is still one hopeful who has yet to take part in his event.

Siberian Husky Winter, a resident at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home Brands Hatch in Kent, is hoping he might be in the race to take home the gold before the end of the closing ceremony this Sunday.

The only accolade Winter has currently is sadly waiting more than 100 days for a new home. During his time at Battersea, he has been keeping a close eye on the proceedings during the Winter Olympics, and after seeing fellow Kent resident Lizzy Yarnold winning gold in the Skeleton event, Winter is hoping her winning streak will rub off on him.

The three-year-old is a beautiful snow white Siberian Husky waiting for a patient new owner who will be understanding of his insecurities. He was brought into the Home through no fault of his own as he didn’t get on well with the other dogs in the household. For this reason, Winter is looking to be the only winner in his owner’s eyes.

This angelic chap is a gentle but anxious boy when it comes to new people. Once he gets to know his team mates and realises that they’re here to support him, Winter enjoys human company and is quite an affectionate guy. He would appreciate a calm and quiet household, and for someone to really get to know him for who he is and not be blinded by his beauty.

Lisa Stockwell, Team Leader at Battersea Brands Hatch, said: “We’re all crossing our fingers and paws for Winter that he’ll win gold and find himself a loving new family. The Winter Olympics may be almost over, but this Winter is still here and waiting, ready to skate out the door and into a new home.”
