Bluewater Announces New Christmas Charity Appeal for 2022

Bluewater has announced a new tap-and-go Christmas charity drive: The Christmas Appeal. The Christmas Appeal will supporta variety of children’s and family charities across Dartford and Kent.

More than 40 organisations will benefit from the appeal, including children’s wellbeing and health charities, energy crisis organisations, family housing groups, and more.

The contactless, tap-and-go donation format invites visitors to quickly and easily contribute to good causes. Guests can head to the donation station, situated on the Upper Thames Walk near M&S and Superdry, while doing their Christmas shopping to make a contactless donation of any amount between 8th and 21stDecember. Bluewater will also be accepting donations of toys and other physical gifts if visitors wish to offer these alongside, or instead of, monetary contributions.

Following feedback from Bluewater’s charity partners, the new appeal has been developed to prioritise financial donations through gift cards – which will give charities greater choice when it comes to how they support their communities and allows the reach to extend to the elderly and families as well as children.

James Waugh, Centre Director at Bluewater, said: “Bluewater’s new Christmas Appeal will have a widespread, positive impact on families across Kent during what will be a difficult time for many.

“Our visitors are always keen to support charitable causes, especially at Christmas. Alongside The Christmas Appeal, we’ll be accepting toys that will be donated to local charities. We know that our generous community will wholeheartedly rally behind these worthy causes.”
