To kick start the event, and in glorious sunshine, the Mayoress of Dartford Rosanna Currans opened the Jobs Fair which showcased 60 employers offering over 500 permanent and temporary roles. The day welcomed a buzz of jobseekers looking for their future career in the hospitality and retail sectors.
Working in partnership with North Kent College and the Department of Work and Pensions, there was a great pool of talented candidates for employers to meet and interview. Among these employers searching for their newest recruits were Primark, Next, Wagamama and Pizza Express.
Of the 1,068 jobseekers who attended looking for work, 384 were given job offers and many second interviews were arranged.
Speaking on behalf of The Learning Shop’s partners, Robert Goodman, Senior Centre Director at Bluewater, commented: “We had no doubt that the Jobs Fair would be another success. The talent this year was exceptional, and we are looking forward to welcoming some of these candidates to our team here at Bluewater.”
