Charity Focus – Howbury Tumbers

by | May 16, 2015 | Dartford Charities

The Howbury Tumblers is a charity registered Parent Carer Toddler Group which I set up 15 years ago, in Slade Green, an area of high deprivation.howbury tumblers

We are open every day during term time, 9.15 – 2.45 on a drop – in basis, and offer a safe and stimulating Play & learn environment for children and their Parents & Carers to enjoy together at a low cost. We provide activities such as cooking, arts & crafts , singing & dancing daily which enhances learning and development in our soft play indoor and outdoor play setting. We have just moved into the new Community Centre in Slade Green, and now have a large ball pit as well as climbing frame, home & book corner, bikes & ride – ons, puzzles and small play. The facilities are fabulous!

howbury tumblersWe do not operate a booking system, for the convenience of our families – they can just turn up and stay as long as they wish. We do refreshments, and families are welcome to bring packed lunches. Our first session is free – after that the charges are : under 6 months – free. 6 months to 1 year – £1 . Over 1 year £3.50 per day. More than 1 child £5.50 per day. Childminders are also welcomed.

We provide work experience placements for students, support Parents & carers in their parenting role and are active in the Community through Big Local and through working closely with other agencies and Community Groups to achieve the best outcomes for our local families.

We are currently updating our policies to meet with standards so we can renew our Bexley Safe Network Kitemark.
