WHSmith will be hosting Lee Ridley, the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2018 (also known as Lost Voice Guy), for a book signing in the WHSmith, Bluewater Shopping Centre, Kent, on Saturday 18th May from 12:30pm
Lee Ridley is a stand-up comedian writer and tech geek based in Newcastle-uponTyne. Lee developed cerebral palsy as a baby and communicates using an iPad. His disability forms the basis of his humour – he is a BBC New Comedy Award winner, his Radio 4 sitcom Ability has been recommissioned for a second series, and his 2018 Edinburgh Fringe show was an instant sell-out.
Lee will be signing copies of ‘I’m Only In It For The Parking’, a hilarious and thought provoking account of life with a blue badge. If you think you know what it’s like to be disabled, prepare to have your perceptions skewered by the much-loved Britain’s Got Talent winner, the brilliant stand-up who struggles to stand up, the Geordie without an accent.
Over the years Lee Riley has been inundated with thoughtless questions from people who have failed to engage their brain before opening their mouth. ‘I’m Only In It For The Parking’ can be viewed as a disabled FAQ, with funny (sometimes painfully funny) stories from Lee’s less-ordinary life.
