Councillor David Mote Elected as Mayor of Dartford

The new Mayor of Dartford, Councillor David Mote, was elected at the Annual Council meeting on 9 May 2018. Councillor David Mote, is married to Ellen, the new Mayoress, and they have two children. Councillor Mote represents Greenhithe as both a Borough and Town Councillor.

He is Chairman of the Stone (Dartford) Scout Group, sits on the Greenhithe and Swanscombe Royal British Legion Branch and Social Committees, is part of the Greenhithe Community Centre Management Team and was Lead Member for the Grants and Community Development portfolio. He is an ex-athlete and is a Life Member of Belgrave Harriers.

David and Ellen will be taking a career break to concentrate on their Mayoral duties, which they are really looking forward to.

With a background in Media and Marketing Communications, and having worked within the housing sector for over 30 years, one of Councillor Mote’s primary interests is sustainable living and helping homeowners understand how they can help the environment.

The Mayor’s Charity Appeal for 2018-19 will support 4 locally based charities: Cherished Memories, Home Start North West Kent, Mary’s Child and SAfE. Details of these charities can be found at their respective websites.
