Dartford Borough Council’s hugely successful outdoor cinema is returning to Central Park this summer with three great movies suitable for the whole family.

‘Practically perfect!’ Mary Poppins Returns will be shown on Wednesday 14th August. Decades after her original visit, the magical nanny returns to help the Banks siblings and Michael’s children through a difficult time in their lives.

This year for the first time we invited Dartford Residents to vote in a Twitter poll for their favourite of four Disney films. The winner with a whopping 42% vote was the 1971 Disney classic Bedknobs and Broomsticks, due to be shown on Wednesday 28th August. Set during WWII three children are evacuated to stay with an apprentice witch who wants to use her witchcraft to aid the war effort with lots of adventures on the way.

Finally, get ready to return to the magical Greek island of Kalokairi and sing and dance, laugh and love all over again, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again will be shown on Wednesday 4th September.

Councillor Jeremy Kite, Leader of the Council said, “The Outdoor Cinema continues to be a huge success. This year we have two fantastic recent sequels as well as a favourite Disney classic chosen by our own Dartford residents, thank you to those of you who voted in our twitter poll. These films have been chosen to appeal to everyone and we look forward to seeing you there!”

Why not make an evening of it and bring family and friends, a blanket and a picnic and settle down to watch one of these classic films in Central Park’s beautiful surroundings.

Once again tickets to the cinema screenings are free for Dartford residents but will need to be booked in advance.

Tickets will be available at www.dartford.gov.uk/events from Wednesday 24th April.
