Dartford FC lifted the Kent Senior Cup after beating Charlton Athletic 3-1 on a chilly night at Princes Park.
It was a youthful Charlton Reserves side that took to the pitch against Dartford but that does not take away from the fact that Dartford spent a lot of the game on top and according to the Charlton Manager Jason Euel “deserved their victory”.
Dartford took the lead through an Elliot Bradbrook half volley on 20 minutes. Charlton rallied and were rewarded by the Dartford goalkeeper gifting them an equaliser a few minutes afterwards after spilling a cross. The rest of the first half was uneventful and the sides went in at half time 1 a piece.
Charlton started brighter in the second half but with no end product. 15 minutes from the end Ronnie Vint bundled in from a Ryan Hayes shot to put Dartford 2-1 up and only a few minutes after Dartford academy graduate Ben Francis put the game beyond Charlton’s reach with a well taken 3rd to secure Dartford’s 11th Kent Senior Cup trophy.
