Dartford Council is opening a new chapter with a brand new one-day festival to celebrate the wide and colourful world of children’s books.

The internet may have changed everyone’s lives but the printed word is as popular as ever and there’s something totally magical about books for children.

So, on Saturday 27th July 2019, children from aged 3 to 12 years are invited to take part in Dartford’s first ever Book Festival which is being held at the Dartford Outdoor Theatre in Central Park.  The day is a celebration of classic children’s literature as well as the latest publishing sensations.

Activities will include drawing workshops, a Winnie the Pooh nature trail, magic show, storytelling, writing workshops, face painting, art competitions, performances and lots more. There will be lots of competitions with great prizes to be won and every child can expect to go home with loads of FREE books.  You never know, some of your favourite book characters could make an appearance!

The Children’s Book festival is open from 11am until 2pm.

Tickets are just £3 and the entrance price covers everything children need for an amazing and inspiring day.

Tickets are available to Dartford residents only and will be available at www.dartford.gov.uk/events from  today Tuesday 18th June 2019.

Accompanying adults (up to two per household) and non-participating children under 3 years go free. We regret that tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
