Review: Annie at The Orchard Theatre
By Lisa Roach, for Dartford Living
I went to see another smash-hit production at Dartford’s Orchard Theatre last night.
ANNIE the Musical has come to Dartford this week straight from the West End.
Although it starred Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood as the tyrannical Miss Hannigan, the entire cast (especially the children) were stars! Annie (Poppy Cunningham) shone throughout and easily held her own amongst the adults.
Set in New York during The Great Depression of the 1930s, young Annie is forced to live in misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.
However, her luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas with famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks despite sabotage plans by Miss Hannigan…
The show has something for everyone to enjoy from young to old and even dog-lovers – singing, dancing, comedy and even a little slapstick!
It’s no Hard Knock Life in Dartford with the Orchard Theatre bringing sensational shows like this to our town. You can bet your bottom dollar that you’ll love the show, so rush down Easy Street and buy tickets Tomorrow! This show will make you feel like the sun has come out, even on a dull day.
Annie runs at The Orchard Theatre, Dartford, from MON 1 – SAT 6 MAY | 2.30PM, 7.30PM.
