Shane Richie, national treasure and star of the Orchard Theatre’s 2015 pantomime Dick Whittintgton, will be turning on the Christmas Lights at the Dartford Big Switch On at 5.25pm Saturday 14th November 2015.

TV star, actor and comedian Shane Richie will be joined on stage by co-stars Malcolm Lord and Pete Gallagher, as well as the Mayor of Dartford Councillor Ian Armitt, Father Christmas and our colouring competition winner.

Dartford town centre is getting ready to sparkle and shine at this year’s Big Christmas Switch On! Mister Maker and Jamie Johnson (The Voice) will be appearing on stage from 2pm as the countdown to switching on Dartford’s Christmas lights begins. Paddington™ will also be appearing at intervals throughout the afternoon and there will also be performances from Orfila, DAODS and the cast of New Jersey Nights before Shane Richie arrives for the Big Switch On.

In addition to the acts and entertainment on the stage in the High Street, there will be lots of family entertainment and giveaways around the town centre.

Councillor Patsy Thurlow, Cabinet Member for Events, said, “We’re looking forward to another spectacular Big Christmas Switch On this year and hope you can join us in the High Street for an afternoon of festive fun!”
