NEW HOBBIES FOR A NEW YEAR, Sing, Strum or Sweat it out in 2025!

by | Feb 11, 2025 | Dartford Art, Dartford Community, Dartford Entertainment, Where to go locally

We continue to offer plenty of opportunities for the local community to GET INVOLVED with our weekly clubs, all taking place in Acacia Sports Hall, Dartford.

We kick off the week with Chair Fit on Mondays, a fully accessible exercise class. Set to popular music, these chair-based exercise classes, allow for everyone of all abilities to stay active. After the class, the group enjoy a hot drink and chit chat, bringing people together.

On Tuesdays we raise our voice with the Orchard Choir: Reprise. Lead by Choir Master, Barry, the group learn and perform songs from West End Shows as well as popular hits. This friendly daytime choir is a welcoming space for anyone who wants to sing, no matter their ability.

Thursdays is our noisiest day, with our Ukulele Club strumming up a storm! The group has been going for over 6 year and grows from strength to strength. They’ve performed in the local community, at Dartford Pride, Christmas Light Switch ons, pre-show in West End and The Orchard Theatre foyers and are always looking for more opportunities to spread their music in new spaces. Perfect from beginners to advanced players, and ukuleles are provided (or bring your own)

Clubs are pay-as-you-go and the first session is FREE for those that just want to have a go and see if it’s right for them.

Statement from Club Organiser, Creative Learning Manager, Terri McCann:

“Each week we open our doors and welcome members of the community into one of our clubs. Beginners, intermediate or seasoned pros re all welcome.  We invite people to immerse themselves in a creative atmosopher, while also enjoying good company with a hot drink, biscuit and a good old chit chat included. Anyone can pick their favourite activity or why not try them all! We are waiting to meet you.”

Full information about our clubs is available on the GET INVOLVED page of our website.
