JUNE 2016: Bluewater, Europe’s leading retail and leisure destination, is celebrating Father’s Day by hosting a series of exciting activities, events and offers throughout June.

For the adventurous dad:

Much more than just a shopping destination, visitors to Bluewater this Father’s Day can enjoy endless activities on-site. Dad can opt for a round of mini golf on the Pirate Cove Adventure Golf Course, or set sail with little ones in the Pirate Pedaloes. Head indoors to catch the latest action blockbuster at Showcase Cinema or try your hand at video games and driving simulators in the Sega Active Zone. And for the 18th and 19th June only, the Jobe Sport Paddleboard installation in Bluewater’s Winter Garden is just the thing for dads after a splash of excitement this Father’s Day. The inflatable pool will be filled with 16,000 litres of water, where two stand-up paddleboards will sit. Families can practice their skills with professionals and put their balance to the test! For those who would like to stay dry, a relaxed seating area with chairs and beanbags beneath a beach star tent will also accompany the installation. It’s free and there’s no need to book, plus goodie bags will be given out to those who take part.

Foodie fathers:

Hungry? With over 60 places to eat, there is plenty of choice when it comes to dining out at Bluewater. From Mexican market dishes and Margaritas at Wahaca, Japanese-inspired cuisine at Wagamama and Italian delights at the recently opened Bella Italia, there is something for everyone on the menu at Bluewater. And to mark UEFA EURO 2016, Byron at Bluewater has the perfect fuel for football-fanatic fathers. The Byronaldo hamburger is made up of a 6oz hamburger, crispy bacon, Freddar™ cheese, Bovril onions, crispy onions, bread-and-butter pickles, mustard burger sauce, all in a glazed bun. Byron’s head chef Fred Smith created the feast, inspired by his trips to Wembley as a child. Guests at Byron can also check out the new beer and dessert menu, or pick up the Byron cookbook on the way out – the perfect Father’s Day gift.

With all the excitement on Father’s Day, dad may need a midday pick-me-up. The Nespresso Boutique on the Upper Guildhall at Bluewater is running tasting sessions for the entire month of June. Pop in and experience the full range of Nespresso coffees and explore their collection of machines, including the Lattissima Touch, Pixie Clips and the new Nespresso By KitchenAid machine.

The Da Vinci dad:

For the dad with an artistic streak, Bluewater’s Soft Play Zone, Splat, will be hosting craft activities for all the family to enjoy from 11th-19th June. Once masterpieces have been created, dad can sit back and relax, whilst the little monsters have some serious fun in the play zone.
