Wentworth Primary School are delighted to congratulate several parents who went ‘Back to School’ at Wentworth and undertook a 16 week study course to gain a qualification in OCR Accredited Functional Skills English. A qualification which they had not previously had the opportunity to gain.
The tutor, Carrie-Ann Barton from Kent Adult Education taught and supported the parents through the course and to sit their final exam and gain the qualification which was in front of an independent invigilator.
Headteacher, Mr Langridge said “We are proud of our parents who have put the time and effort in to gain this qualification and it shows our children the importance of education. Some parents have gained this qualification to be in a better position to support their children at home and to improve their life chances “. The parents were invited in to our school for Celebration Assembly where they were presented with their certificates.
Due to the success of the course we are running an OCR Functional Maths qualification to compliment the English. This will be starting in September.
