• Spectacular productions of the finest classical ballets

• Full orchestral accompaniment

Audiences in Dartford have the opportunity to enjoy aspectacular presentation of one of the world’s most popular classical ballets this New Year, as the Orchard Theatrewelcomes the International Classic Ballet Theatre on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 January.

The Nutcracker is a feast for the senses; the enchanting tale of Clara’s adventures with her Nutcracker Prince is full of magic and wonder for audiences of all ages. It’s Christmas Eve and Clara is gifted a Nutcracker doll who miraculously comes to life… A daring battle with the Mouse King is just the start of the excitement, as the Nutcracker Prince whisks Clara off to the Land of Snow, where they are greeted by dancing snowflakes. A host of spectacular dances complete the magical night and Clara finally wakes to wonder if it’s all been a dream.

Tchaikovsky’s delightful score has the power to transport audiences to a fairytale land; the familiar composition is truly the sound of Christmas, a masterpiece perfectly complementing the dancers and narrative, especially when performed by a live orchestra.

This season the ballet will be presented by The International Classic Ballet Theatre. This company of international dancers comes to the UK following performances in the United States, where they have toured extensively in 2022 to great acclaim. The dancers are carefully selected by Georgia-born Artistic Director, Marina Medvetskaya, a disciple of Vakhtang Chaboukiana and a former prima ballerina of Tbilisi State Academic Opera and Ballet. Each dancer is chosen for their grace, skill and athleticism, essential for the classical style of ballet presented.

Artistic Director Marina Medvetskaya said, I adore bringing this iconic ballet to the UK where there is such a love for the classics. take great pride in selecting the best dancers from across the globe to ensure that audiences have a wonderful experience and become ballet lovers for life.”
