The popular and award-winning Sounds Right Phonics for Kids classes, which are taking the country by storm, are coming to Dartford and Erith, thanks to local mum Jo Broadey.  Jo has just bought one of the 40 franchises, to bring the wonderful world of phonics to Kent, and she will be running the classes at the Orchards Shopping Centre (Dartford), Dartford Goals and the Angelus Centre (Northumberland Heath) for children aged between one and four.

Created by Alex Burnside, a qualified primary teacher with ten years’ teaching experience, and her sister Charlie Day, a drama, speech and language teacher, the classes are extremely popular with parents and children alike, who love the fun and high energy activities, and they have been called “a must for any preschooler”.

As an ex English teacher, Jo is the perfect person to teach these classes in the local area, and she says; “I am so excited to bring Sounds Right Phonics classes to Dartford and Erith, they are so much fun to teach and very educational too. I know the children will love them.”

Each class covers sound recognition, alliteration, segmenting and blending, as well as fine and gross motor skills for handwriting. The Minis class (12 to 30 months) teaches early recognition of sounds and rhymes, and the Preschool (two and a half to four years) develops the children’s foundational reading and writing skills.

Charlie Day co-founder of Sounds Right Phonics Classes comments; “We are so excited that Jo is bringing our classes to Kent, she’s a fantastic teacher with lots of energy and the children are going to love her.”

Alex Burnside who wrote the syllabus for Sounds Right Phonics adds; “The great thing about these classes is that children participate at their own pace in an encouraging and supportive environment and leave the classes having had the best possible preparation for their Reception year. The best part is they have had so much fun, that they do not even realise how much they have learnt.”

Classes are launching on April 23rd 2019, and will run on weekdays. Booking is essential and spaces can be booked on the website page: soundsrightphonicsclasses.co.uk or email jo@soundsrightphonicsclasses.co.uk.
