Local charity Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Services will be launching a new support group for people affected by dementia.
On Wednesday 1st May 2019 the support group will open its doors for the first time at The Hub, 171 Dartford Road, Dartford, DA1 3EW. The group will provide information and support for those living with dementia and their carers and families. The group will be fun and friendly but serious about supporting people affected by dementia. Dartford Support Group will meet every Wednesday 10am-12pm, except the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
The group will be officially launched by Councillor David Mote, the Mayor of Dartford at 10am. Katie Antill, Senior Service Delivery Manager for Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Services said ‘We are delighted to be able to offer a support group in Dartford. For a long time, people who we meet in Dartford have told us that a regular group would make a big difference to their lives and with some funding from Dartford Borough Council we have been able to make this a reality, we are very excited.’
‘With the right support and the chance to talk to people in a similar situation people living with dementia can live well and take part in community life. We work hard locally to bring people together and enable them to live well with dementia.’
