Sun shines on a classic Dartford Festival

by | Jul 20, 2015 | Dartford News

Press release from Dartford Council.

Scorching hot temperatures and a brilliant line-up combined to make the Dartford Festival 2015 one of the best ever!

The free Festival, which is organised by Dartford Borough Council, attracted over 20,000 visitors over the weekend and saw local families joined by faithful travelling fans of some of Britain’s top bands.

The audience flocked to see big name acts including The Selecter, The Feeling and From The Jam, plus Stone Foundation, Made in Chelsea’s Andy Jordan, BGT’s Calum Scott, Room 94 and Remedy.

Local dance groups and ‘Generation Dartford’ acts Resident Only, BeerGut 100, Tom Johnston and Zac Vincent also performed on the main stage to huge audiences, gaining themselves lots of new fans in the process.

Away from the main stage, a whole host of charities, organisations and businesses worked hard to put on displays, demonstrations and activities including rock climbing, mini rugby matches and cycling.

Councillor Jeremy Kite, Leader of the Council, said, “We’ve already had a huge number of positive comments about this year’s Festival. We try to improve every year and our commitment to live music and local bands sets it apart as one of the biggest and best free festivals around. Lots of families enjoy the Festival every year, charity stalls were busy and the atmosphere was great!”
