Make memories and support ellenor at Ebbsfleet International Station this Christmas

Once again this year, customers travelling through Ebbsfleet International Station in the run-up to Christmas are being given the opportunity to remember a loved one by hanging an ellenor star on the station’s stunning Christmas tree. Ebbsfleet offered travellers the chance to do this last year and, in addition to growing awareness for the hospice charity ellenor, helped to raise £730.24 to support families facing terminal illness.

The beautiful ellenor stars include a section to write the name of somebody the Station visitor is thinking about over the festive period, in return for a donation to the charity.

“We received lots of positive feedback from our customers about this initiative last year, so are proud to be supporting ellenor again this festive period and hope the support we can offer will benefit many more families facing terminal illness,” says Catherine Bridges, Customer Service Assistant at Network Rail (High Speed). “It is a perfect way for our customers to think about a loved one this Christmas by dedicating a star on our tree and we also found our team members here used it as a way of remembering colleagues who have sadly passed away.”

The care which ellenor provides to families facing terminal illness will continue 24/7 over the Christmas period – both at the hospice and out in the community, where ellenor provides 90% of its care.

“We are so grateful to the staff and customers at Ebbsfleet International Station for supporting ellenor again this year,” says Sarah Neville, Area Fundraiser at ellenor. “We know Christmas can be a difficult time for many people – particularly if a loved one isn’t there at this special time of the year, so we hope that our ellenor stars are bringing people some comfort.”

Any organisations interested in ellenor Christmas stars for their trees, can call the ellenor fundraising team on: 01474 320007.
