It’s your last chance to apply! The Orchard Theatre is looking for Actors, Singers, Dancers and Technicians to join us for this year’s Summer Youth Project Bugsy Malone!

The Orchard Theatre, Dartford on Sunday 13 March is where this year’s auditions will be held for local youngsters for a part in the Orchard Theatre’s Summer Youth Project Bugsy Malone! The Summer Youth Project is open to all young people between nine and 19 years old, it is your last chance to apply and perform on the stage that some of the biggest stars in show business have performed!

Sing, move and make your first impression in front of the professional panel of judges, remembering you only get one chance to make your first impression, so give it everything you’ve got and enjoy yourself!

The Orchard theatre is also looking for young technicians, so if you would like to help backstage do also get in touch!

This is the seventh year that The Orchard Theatre has run a Summer Youth Project, offering the opportunity for local youngsters to develop all elements of their performance skills and perform on the big stage. HQ Theatres, which has run The Orchard since April 2009, is committed to involving the community in the life of The Orchard Theatre. The Summer Youth Project requires a major investment from HQ Theatres and offers great prospects for the development in the young people in North Kent.

Top Tips for auditioning

Get to know Bugsy Malone! – Find out as much as you can about the show by listening to the songs and watching the film. This will give you a good knowledge of the story and characters that the panel will be looking for on the day!

Practise reading with friends & family – You may be asked to read for a particular part so practise reading different scripts out loud with friends & family. Remember to stay in character and make the panel believe that you are thinking and feeling the words on the page.

Wear suitable clothing – Always wear clothes that you can easily move in as you may be asked to dance and sing on the day.

Have fun – Smile, relax and enjoy yourself. This is the most important to remember! Over 100 young people will be selected to come together and take part in the process of staging this year’s

Summer Youth Project Bugsy Malone! Audition for your opportunity to work with a highly skilled creative team, make new friends and have lots of fun learning, rehearsing and performing!
