Two days of entertainment and activity coming to Dartford

by | Jul 7, 2025 | Dartford Community, Dartford Council, Dartford Entertainment, Where to go locally

Get ready for two days of incredible entertainment as the Big Day Out weekend returns to Dartford’s Central Park on 12-13 July, bringing with it live music, vintage steam vehicles, family-friendly activities, and more – all completely free!

Saturday will kick-off with a fantastic DJ set to keep the energy high throughout, alongside performances from top-quality tribute acts celebrating the music of P!nk, Coldplay, Motown, and Dolly Parton.

The steam rally is returning for visitors to enjoy on both Saturday and Sunday, with an impressive collection of vintage vehicles on display to pay homage to Richard Trevithick and Dartford’s rich engineering history. Families can also enjoy the Kids Zone at the Outdoor Theatre offering fully inclusive play, face painting, craft workshops, and more. Plus the fearsome yet friendly dinosaurs are back, and there will be plenty of giveaways and roaming entertainment from Cohesion Plus.

After the excitement of Saturday, the festival winds down with the return of the Big Chill Out on Sunday 13 July. Families are invited to come along with a picnic to enjoy a more relaxed and laid-back vibe, with talented local singers and performers appearing on stage throughout the day.

There will be plenty to eat and drink too, with a variety of food trucks parking up over the weekend including Indo-Mauritian, British carvery, Indian, pizzas, bacon butties, and much more! Fully stocked bars will be serving cold drinks, beers and cocktails, and if you fancy a cuppa instead… we’ve got that covered too!

A Dartford Borough Council spokesperson said: “Big Day Out is a fantastic way for the Dartford community to come together and enjoy a weekend of free entertainment in the beautiful surroundings of Central Park. Our team has worked hard to put together an event that offers something for everyone without breaking the bank, and we hope to see you there!”
