LOCAL MCDONALD’S HERO, AWARD-WINNING ASSISTANT MANAGER GINA CLARKSON STARS IN MCDONALD’S CASE STUDY FILM

McDonald’s has spotlighted local hero Gina Clarkson, an award-winning Assistant Manager, as she led her team at Crayford McDonald’s in the latest BBC Children in Need case study film. The heartwarming video showcases Gina’s dedication and the efforts of her team to raise crucial funds for children and young people across the UK. The short film has been released on Instagram, linked HERE.

Gina Clarkson has long been a passionate advocate for fundraising, driven by her desire to make a difference. Inspired from an early age by her mother’s acts of kindness, Gina developed a commitment to giving back and helping others. Since joining McDonald’s at the age of 16, Gina has become a well-known figure in her local community, recognised not only for her positivity but also for her tireless efforts to help those in need.

Under her guidance, Crayford McDonald’s played a pivotal role in McDonald’s nationwide campaign to raise money for BBC Children in Need. The restaurant hosted a ‘Pudsey Day’ fundraising event on Friday, 15th November and was transformed with vibrant Pudsey decorations, including the bear’s iconic spots, bunting, and even a Pudsey mascot making a special appearance.

The day was packed with fun activities for the whole family, from ‘bear-pong’ and guessing the number of sweets in the jar to face-painting for children and adults alike. Gina and her team were also selling homemade keyrings and cups, with all proceeds going to the charity. This successful event was attended by the notable Crayford Arrows Football Club and organisation ‘Uplift The Next Generation’, who focuses on supporting and empowering young people.

In the film, Gina’s passion and commitment are front and centre, illustrating how local efforts can have a nationwide impact for young people. Her story is a true testament to the power of community, teamwork, and generosity, making Gina Clarkson not just a local hero but an inspiration to all.

Gina Clarkson said: “I’ve always been so passionate about doing what I can to raise money for people in need, and I love how we’re able to put on an exciting day of fundraising at our very own restaurant. My mum always inspired me to look around at how I can do more for other people, and I’m so proud of the work my team and I have done, organising the ‘Pudsey Day’ event. I want to encourage everyone to donate as little or as much as they can, to support the great cause that is BBC Children in Need.”

Since the start of the partnership with BBC Children in Need, McDonald’s has supported more than 185 youth projects employing more than 320 youth workers and improving outcomes for over 42,500 young people. In addition to BBC Children in Need, McDonald’s fundraises for other charity partners including Ronald McDonald House Charities, of which McDonald’s is a founding and forever partner, and Fareshare.
