Energy Deal scheme set to help residents save money

by | Aug 24, 2015 | Dartford News

Press Release from Dartford Borough Council.

Dartford Borough Council is pleased to confirm that Energy Deal is back – another round of the popular collective switching campaign, which aims to help residents looking to reduce their gas and electricity bills, was launched on 4 August.

Residents can register to take part in the latest round of the scheme before the next energy auction on 13 October. This gives people plenty of time to register before the autumn deadline and before the winter heating bills start coming in. In the last round of Energy Deal, residents who registered in the Dartford District could make an average saving of £221.22 per year.

Dartford Borough Council is working in partnership with Dover, Gravesham, Tonbridge & Malling and Tunbridge Wells councils to operate the Energy Deal scheme. Grouping together offers a straightforward solution for residents to find out if they can get a better deal and benefit by saving money on the home energy bills.

For full details and to register visit www.energydealswitch.com

If you do not have a computer to register or need help registering on to the scheme, help is available at the Civic Centre, Home Gardens, Dartford DA1 1DR on 23, 24 & 30 September and 1, 7 & 8 October. Please phone 01322 343056 to book a time convenient to you between 10am and 4pm.

The scheme is open to all households using gas and electricity, or electricity only, who pay monthly, quarterly or via a pre payment meter. It’s free to register for the scheme, and residents are not obliged to switch energy supplier. Registration will require details of annual energy consumption, current tariff/supplier, (shown on fuel bill/annual energy statement), and method of payment. Residents can register up until 13 October, when energy suppliers are invited to compete with their best offer at an energy auction (administered by iChoosr). Residents registered with Energy Deal will then be sent a personalised offer showing the winning tariff, which they can then decide whether they want to accept.
